Janet Y. Johnson

Flat River Gallery and Framing and LowellArts presents a celebration of the life and art of Janet Y. Johnson, who passed away on February 20, 2017. Jan will be remembered as an accomplished artist, and her legacy includes evidence of her helping to achieve the goal of creating a vibrant hub for the arts in our community.
She was a founding member of LowellArts, a founding member of the co-op gallery Flat River Gallery & Framing, and a lifetime member Grand Valley Artists. She lived in Lowell since 1951. She taught community art classes, was an illustrator for a local supplemental text book company, was a graphic artist for the newspaper, and was a publication designer/art director for Amway Corp. for 22 years.
Her watercolor and acrylic paintings represent a wide-range of subject matter and styles including plein air, impressionism, abstract, florals, animals, and scenery.
