Bob and Kris Brown
We’re a husband-and-wife team and our photography venture, 2 Browns Photography, combines our love of the outdoors with our love of photography.
We both started shooting film when we were 10 years old and moved into digital around 2009. On day hikes, camping trips, etc., we’d capture our adventures. In 2012, we gifted ourselves a photography weekend workshop and were inspired to follow our passion. We are mostly self-taught but always enjoy taking workshops with other photographers and in other mediums.
Most of our pieces capture scenes and elements of the Michigan landscape that inspire us. We hope that our images convey the beauty, spirit and excitement that we experienced. More recently, Bob has also been exploring the patterns and details of flowers and leaves using macrophotography.
January - March 2022 we are the featured artists in the Dogwood Center for the Performing Arts gallery.
Our work has appeared in ArtPrize, Festival of the Arts, Frames Unlimited, LowellArts, NCAA-Artsplace, Cherie Inn and the Pure Michigan campaign and is in many private collections, hospitals, and businesses. In 2019, Kris won the Bill Pieri Purchase Award in the Festival of the Arts Regional Exhibit and an honorable mention in the NCCA-Artsplace statewide photography contest.
