Cartonnage Boxes with Whitney Lassini
Are you looking for a creative way to make use of your fabric stash without having to use a needle and thread?
Why not try Cartonnage, the French art of box making?
Cartonnage is not only fun and easy, it’s a great way to make functional but elegant homemade gifts for friends and family.
In this 4 hour class students will learn how to cover and assemble chipboard pieces into a beautiful box for storing tea and cookies. Once you have the basics, you should be able to make more boxes on your own, or buy a precut kit and go from there.
Everything you need will be provided. I have a TON of beautiful fabrics to choose from but you are welcome to bring something from your stash. The box we are making requires ¼ yard each of two coordinating fabrics. I recommend cotton quilting fabrics.
